Samsung has now quietly shut down the Galaxy S20 series smartphones

Just after launching the new Galaxy S21 series devices, Samsung seems to have quietly discontinued the old Galaxy S20 smartphone.

For most smartphone makers, the new smartphone model does not mean discontinuing the old model. Many customers prefer to buy old smartphones when newly launched which were given earlier, now have a cheaper price tag. However, it seems that Samsung does not quite support it.

The company has launched its new Galaxy S21 series and one hopes that the Galaxy S20 series will also be available to interested buyers. But now you can not buy any model of Galaxy S20 series from Samsung's official website.

According to a report by GizmoChina, if you just go to Samsung's official website, the only Galaxy S20 smartphone you buy is the Galaxy S20 FE (which just received an update to improve touch screen stability).

When did Samsung Galaxy s20 FE come out?

The Galaxy S20 FE was announced after other Galaxy S20 devices, about three months ago, so it's not surprising that this model is available.

Both the Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra are officially listed as 'Out of Stock' on Samsung's website globally in India.

This is probably Samsung's way of trying to get new users to buy new Galaxy S21 devices instead of opting for older models, unless they decide to restore some time soon.

So if you want to get a good deal on older flagship devices, then you have to expect that third-party sellers have some stock left for them. You may also be able to get your hands on some refurbished equipment.
